Seminar for Cuban agricultural officials wraps up in Beijing

 The Seminar for Cuban Agricultural Officials wrapped up in Beijing on May 7, 2014. Niu Dun, Vice Minister of Agriculture of China and Alberto J.Blanco Silva, Ambassador of Cuba to China attended and addressed the wrap-up ceremony.

 

Niu noted that agricultural cooperation is an important component of bilateral ties between China and Cuba. In recent years, with joint efforts of both sides, China-Cuba agricultural cooperation forged ahead rapidly and achieved remarkable progress. The Seminar, aiming at exchanging expertise and experience in agricultural areas, is considered a concrete activity to implement the China-Cuba agricultural cooperation plan and advance agricultural development of both countries. "The Seminar will further enhance mutual understanding, promote our friendship, deepen agricultural collaboration and bring benefits to the people of both countries." Niu said.

 

Ambassador Alberto J.Blanco Silva extended his sincere congratulations for the successful conclusion and fruitful results of the Seminar.In particular, he spoke highly of the excellent arrangements made by the Chinese side. He believed that China-Cuba agricultural cooperation will definitely become a model of bilateral collaboration between China and Latin America and the Caribbean countries.

 

Experts, academias and officials were invited to give lectures at the Seminar on China's agricultural and rural reform; agro-technology innovation system and personnel training; agri-business operation; agri-trade; animal production and feed processing, and so on. In addition, the participants also paid field visits to Beijing, Shandong and Yunnan, and conducted face-to-face communication with local officials, experts, entrepreneurs and farmers
